Traditional leader-first management pyramids place managers at the top and foster an autocratic leadership style. However, FFAM360 is inverting the pyramid and placing management at the bottom to create a cohesive team and harmonious workplace through Servant Leadership.
What is Servant Leadership?
Servant Leadership focuses on the growth of individuals and the development of teamwork within an organization. While servant leadership is an ancient philosophy, Robert K. Greenleaf coined the term in his essay, “The Servant as Leader,” published in 1970. Servant-leaders are servants first and put the needs of the team before their own to build a community of leaders within the organization. Servant leadership embraces humility, authenticity, and the belief that the best leaders lead by example and are first and foremost, team members.
FFAM360 and Servant Leadership
Servant leadership is the philosophy of business for FFAM360. American author and management expert Ken Blanchard states, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Through empathy, listening, awareness, stewardship, and the commitment to helping others, FFAM360 is experiencing quantifiable results in the success and growth of the company. Leadership believes that by placing themselves at the bottom of the management structure pyramid, they are able to support and drive everyone above them. Acknowledging others’ perspectives, encouraging and supporting personal and work goals, and involving team members in decisions is what sets the culture of FFAM apart from most companies. Servant leadership is a long term investment in the people of the company as individuals, not just as employees, and creates a corporate culture that allows people to unlock their full potential and perform to the highest standards.
“Each individual within FFAM is part of the chain that makes our family of companies stronger,” says Mary Maloney, Corp President of FFAM360. President and Chief Investment Officer Matthew Maloney added, “We embody the servant leadership mindset and encourage our employees to value serving each other over the attainment of personal gains. Through our shared successes, we create a warm and exciting atmosphere that naturally promotes employee fulfillment and engagement. We are proud to serve our employees through a servant-leader philosophy; we provide them the support they need to collaborate effectively, meet their goals, and create a seamless workplace.”
